Tutoring is education in its purest form, insofar as its primary objective is to act on people’s emotional and social levels. URKIDE considers it a key to its identity. In its mission statement, it presents itself as a centre that “gives special importance to the tutoring action, emotional accompaniment and the creation of a safe and stimulating environment for everyone”.

ZUTORETZA
This is how we, at URKIDE, have chosen to call tutoring. It is not only the name of an educational action: it is also a call. The element ZU (“you” in Basque language) at the beginning of the word presents the student as the centre and target of the tutoring action, but at the same time (and this is the most important thing) it moves them to become an active subject of their own individual development. Knowing oneself or making life plans are motivating goals that have to be taken up in the first person.
